I've Always Thought of you no matter what. What Friends we were

I remember that exact day it was pure hell for all of us. At first all was quiet and then like nothing all hell broke loose. No matter what you broke that 50CAL gun fire. My heart is still broken today. No one knows the price we've all paid one way or another. We will meet again and I want to be in heaven just as I believe you are now with all our other brothers. I hope I can make contact with some member of your family and attempt to sooth their hearts as much as I can. You are eternally my friend, my brother, my MARINE Band Of Brothers no less.

Remembering An American Hero

Dear HM3 Daniel Patrick Birch, sir

As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.

May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.

With respect, and the best salute a civilian can muster for you, Sir

Curt Carter
