Marine tank crewman and rifleman

Dillard E. Peterson
W.Tioga Street, Tioga

Peterson attended Roxborough High School and worked as a pawnbroker for several months before enlisting in the Marine Corps in June 1966. The 20-year-old lance corporal, a tank crewman and rifleman with Company K of the 3rd Battalion, 27th Marines, 1st Marine Division, died in Quang Nam Province, Vietnam, on April 19, 1968. He was survived by his parents.

God fearing man.

He was a God fearing man and I will always remember him for that. He offered a prayer each time someone got hit or died. I did the same for him the day he died.
