do not stand at my grave and weep......
Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there. I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry;
I am not there. I did not die.
I am not there. I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush

Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry;
I am not there. I did not die.

Rest In Peace.
I recently visited the Vietnam memorial with my son. Near the wall is a book with the names and locations on the wall for the soldiers honored there. My last name happens to be Perry, so out of curiosity I looked to see if any soldiers shared my name. To my shock and sadness, I learned that R. T. Perry died the very day I was born, October 8, 1968. It really touched me so I wanted to look him up and see what I could learn about him. That brought me to this website.
I hope others like me are touched by the memorial and see the senselessness of this war and all others. It really brought it home for me. Rest In Peace, Corporal Perry.
