Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage and faithfulness, especially now. Rest in peace with the angels.

Ground Casualty
On May 24, 1969, three black privates, George Hoskins Jr., Grafton L. Perry, and Cortez A. Randolph, were killed by a grenade in a stolen 2 ½ ton military vehicle along the Main Supply Route near Long Binh. An investigation into the case revealed the vehicle was speeding and a military policeman pulled it over to the side of the road. While standing next to the driver’s door, an explosion occurred in the cab, injuring the MP and killing two of the soldiers, the third dying later at the hospital. Investigators inspecting the scene inside the cab determined that, after being pulled over, one of the soldiers pulled the pin from the grenade, possibly with the intention of throwing it at the MP. It appeared as if he dropped it on the floor near the soldier sitting in the middle of the cab and exploded at that location. An investigator went to the hospital and attempted to talk to the wounded soldier who initially survived the blast but he died in his presence without speaking. Since there was no proof of intent on the part of any of the three soldiers, their deaths were determined to be accidental. [Taken from thewall-usa.com and the book Fragging by George Lepre]
