Richard

My maiden name was Queen (Sharon). Because our grammar school classes were seated by alphabetical sorting, Richard always sat in the seat in front of me. He was African American, I was Caucasian. Richard was so very sweet and kind and he had the most beautiful brown eyes with long curly lashes. I have always thought of him very fondly when ever I thought of Fernwood Grammar school...cause we were "buddies". It wasn't until the late 70's and I happened to talk to his twin sister, Rosalind that I found out he was one of the casualties of this horrible war. I grieved the loss of a gentle sole on earth. Now, as we are approaching the "New Millenium", and I reflect back on my life I decided to look for his name on the memorial via my computer. (I now am married and live in Phoenix). I have to say I was overwhelmed when I typed in his name and actually saw the date of his death and where it happened. I will say a prayer for his spirit as I see his child-face in front of me. Thank you for making this "closure" possible. Sharon Reddy
