I've never met you but I have known you my whole life
Uncle Dean,
You are the only person in my life that I have never met yet has made such an impact on me and my family. Not a holiday goes by that my Dad doesn't talk about you or remember you in some way. My brother even carries your name. He always said all you ever wanted to do was fly and how you didn't want to go back but you did to help others. You were so brave! I wish I could have known you, as I have heard so many good stories and things about you. Your sacrifice has never been forgotten by us and will be told to my children and will be kept alive in them and told again and again by our family. Thank you for being so brave and going back for a second tour. You will live forever in our hearts and we look forward to being able to meet you one day.
If anyone would like to contact me they can do so on FB (social profile) under my name and adding in Pedings. I would love to get in touch with anyone who could share more stories of my uncle. :) And P-nut... if you ever come across this page... PLEASE contact me. I have tried my whole life to find you.

I Remember....
Dear Dad. I remember the last time you said goodbye. I was only 3, but God knew you would be giving the ultimate sacrifice and gave me a memory of you that I cherish. What a lot of people don't know about you, is that you volunteered to go back for a second tour. You wanted to help people this time by flying Dust Off. I am proud of you and your grandkids are proud of you also. Dad, I want you to know, I thank all the military people I meet. I know what they are sacrificing. I love you and can not wait to hug you again. Love, P-nut.

Remembering an American Hero
Dear CWO Billy Dean Pedings, sir
As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.
May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.
With respect, and the best salute a civilian can muster for you, Sir
Curt Carter
