Thank you for your service to our country so long ago sir. We should be forever thankful for the sacrifices of you and so many others to ensure the freedoms we so often take for granted.

MAJ James Carl Payne is buried in Oaklawn Cemetery in Jonesboro, AR.

Dear Maj. James Payne, Thank you for your service as an Operations & Training Staff Officer. Saying thank you isn't enough, but it is from the heart. It is Easter Thursday. Time passes quickly. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage and faithfulness, especially now. Rest in peace with the angels.

This man was more than just a hero, he was my uncle. He served with honor and led an amazing life, leaving two boys who grew into two fine men, my cousins Nate and Ben. He inspired me to a career in the Army by his example. Jim Payne is still loved and missed and should never be forgotten.
