Del Norte County Historical Society Museum

On the second floor of the Del Norte County Historical Society Museum in Crescent City, CA is a display case which honors soldiers who lost their lives in Vietnam.  The display case sits beneath a plaque provided by the Pacific Northwest Chapter of Vietnow.  The plaque was dedicated May 1, 1997, and begins with the inscription “All Gave Some…Some Gave All…Some Are Still Giving…” It also lists the names of 32 soldiers who lost their lives in the war.  On display inside the case are many of the items left by family and loved ones at The Moving Wall, a replica of the national Vietnam Veterans Memorial wall that was on display in Crescent City at Beachfront Park July 1-7, 1993.

Thank You

I am a student and I am posting remembrances for a class. Nothing can compare to your sacrifice for this country. We enjoy so many liberties in this land that we take for granted. It is thanks to men and women like you that we have these opportunities! Your loyalty will never be forgotten!

Thank you!

Dear Soldier, Hello, my name is Nick Lyons. I am a Junior at Gridley High School in Illinois. My U.S. History Class is doing a project to leave remembrances for soldiers who do not have any. It is a shame and a travesty that more Americans do not take a few minutes out of their day to leave their thanks and gratitude to great Americans like you who gave their lives so they could be free. Thank you so much for making the ultimate sacrifice so millions of Americans could continue to live in a free society. You are truly a great American! To the family and friends of this soldier I give my deepest apologies, and may God Bless. Nick Lyons
