A Classmate Remembered
I lived with my grandparents for three school years and met Robert in elementary school. I moved away after 6th grade but returned every summer to reconnect with those friends made in elementary school and Robert was always present with his laughter. Life happens and adults move into different seasons still I often wondered about my friend, how he was doing. Many years later, I returned with my mother for a church reunion. We visited Caldwell and parked next to the courthouse square. I noted a monument and walked over to it. The first name I saw was Robert's name and my heart broke. Once, while in D.C., I found his name on the Viet Nam War Memorial. Thank you for your friendship, Robert, and continue to rest well.

Thank You
Dear Sgt Robert Oldham, Thank you for your service as an Indirect Fire Infantryman. Saying thank you isn't enough, but it is from the heart. Presidents’, and Valentine’s Days just passed, and Lent has begun. Time passes quickly. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage and faithfulness, especially now. Rest in peace with the angels.
