Always Remembered

Dear Denise,

I hope this message finds you well. I recently found a website in which you had written a lovely letter to your brother Robert in November 2011. I would like to share my story and how I came to know of him.

I was born December 1960 and Robert became a casualty in January 1970, which made him 27 years old. I was 10 at the time and understood very little about Vietnam. Although I do remember my cousins having POW*MIA stickers on their bedroom doors.

My husband and I were stationed in Germany in 1987 which made me 27. It was during this time we went to an air show, where an older gentleman approached us and handed me a red metal bracelet with your brother’s name on it.

It has now been nearly 36 years that I have carried this bracelet. Wherever I have walked he has walked with me.

With prayers,
Sherry
