I remember talking with Nurisso in Long Bien on the day he passed. We were stationed at Monmouth at the same time, and then Phuoc Vinh.

On the remembrance of your 70th birthday, your sacrifice is not forgotten.

Dear Sp4 Charles Nurisso, Thank you for your service as a Tactical Microwave Systems Repairman. The 51st anniversary of the start of your tour is soon. Saying thank you isn't enough, but it is from the heart. Time passes quickly. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage and faithfulness, especially now. Rest in peace with the angels.

Charlie was my sister’s friend’s brother.
We have never forgotten him and my son surprised me about 15 years ago with a rubbing of Charlie’s name from the Vietnam remembrance wall.
Charlie was someone whose name my kids knew well as the name of a kind young man whose parents sorrow is etched in my mind.
He used to write often about how tough it was there and I always feel sad that I didn’t understand.
His life impacted me and my sons tremendously. Thank you Vets and families of those who gave their all.
