THANKYOU WIELAND

Dear Wieland, Thirty one years have passed since you gave the ultimate sacrifice to the people of this great country. Because of you and others like you, we are able to live our lives with freedom and in peace. I, though never having met you, have come to know what a special and wonderful person you are through the words of your brother Carlos. I understand what a terrible loss this was for him as I have recently lost my sister, and my best friend. Every time that I pass the American flag I salute to you so that you can know how grateful I am that we are able to fly our flag with pride. Please know Wieland that just as my sister lives on in my heart, you also live on through the hearts of all who loved you. Your spirit will go on forever through those whose lives you touched. When someone you loves becomes a memory...that memory becomes a treasure. FLY PROUD MY FRIEND AND MAY GOD BLESS YOU. Love, Barbara

Race Days

Some of my best street races in Hawthorne were with you riding shotgun. Our laughing and yelling as we crossed the finish line, is still ringing in my ears. We really did kick ass. Sleep well my friend, and........Thanks.

For Willie

I knew you as Willie. You spoke of your love for your wife and it was obvious that you very proad of your brother. You volunteered to take point after we were ambused. We needed to take the high ground before night fall. It cost you your life. I hope that those of us who survived honor your death.
