Remembering An American Hero

Dear PFC Lee Roy Nolley, sir

As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.

May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.

With respect, and the best salute a civilian can muster for you, Sir

Curt Carter

Good boy from Texas

Lee Roy (always thought it was one name back then). Great guy and good man to have with you on that M60. Talked about home a lot and never had a bad word for anyone. Still think of him and am proud to have known him.

Faith and Courage

Hi, Roy. Just heard from your Sis, and read the postings from her and your other family members, fellow soldier John and some of your friends. I never knew you but you sure sound like a great man of faith and courage to me. And what a loving family you left behind! I guess the Lord decided that you are so special that He wanted you up there with Him earlier than most. But it won't be long before we'll all be joining you, so I'd like to offer my thanks for your service to our country and for your great attitude toward adversity. We have a great number of brave men like you, but we sure could use a bunch more. From a fellow Texan, and a fellow Nam Vet: may God bless you and your family. We will NOT forget.
