Do not stand at my grave and weep

Do not stand at my grave and weep.
I am not there; I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints on snow,
I am the sun on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there; I did not die.

NATIVE AMERICAN PRAYER

It is said a man hasn't died as long as he is remembered. This prayer is a way for families, friends and fellow veterans to remember our fallen brothers and sisters. Do not stand at my grave and weep I am not there, I do not sleep. I am a thousand winds that blow, I am the diamond glints on snow. I am the sunlight on ripened grain, I am the gentle autumn rain. When you awaken in the morning hush, I am the swift, uplifting rush of quiet birds in circled flight, I am the stars that shine at night. Do not stand at my grave and cry, I am not there, I did not die

Ray was a friend

I met Ray in basic at Fort Ord. We went to AIT and Jump school together and to the D.R. when we were in the 82nd. Ray was one of those 'choosen' to make up the 1st Cav. I went to Nam in Feb 66 and didn't see Ray until one day when we were on a convoy headed to Tuy Hoa. We were slowly going over a bridge and there were some 'grunts' along the roadside. One was Ray, and I yelled to him. He saw me long enough to yell back. That was the last time we saw each other. I will always remember him as a friendly, jovial person. We did a lot of thing's together before Nam and I have not, not will I ever forget Ray.

He did not go with me

The night Ray died he was supposed to go on LP with me, for some reason he did not go, I wish he had. He always made me laugh, I miss him.
