My Daddy

If you have read his profile , I am the 5th child. Sadly I never had the chance to meet my daddy.I have had the honor of getting to know him through countless memories from my mom and other family members. I've always been so proud to be his baby girl ! Reading posts from others about him only adds to my profound love of the man I never met..I only hope I have made him proud and pray he continues to watch over us all. Mommy says you're the love of her life forever. We love and miss you daddy xoxo

SSGT V.L. MCMAHON

Sgt McMahon was my senior drill instructor June, July & August of 1965. His mos became wireman, I remember one night in bootcamp when I was standing guard duty, it was late and I and the sgt were in his office talking normal for a change it was like I wasn't a recruit any more for a bit haha Sgt Mac was studying and told me he was going to be a lineman, and latet he was.
Another remembrance, I failed to say thankyou loud enough to the pay master, the sgt hit me in the stomach and told me to give him 50 pushups. This is how a boy is turned into a man.
I honored Sgt McMahon in 2007 with his photo on a sign saying "in honor of our fallen leader" the sign 14 inch by 5 ft mounted just above the cab of my truck in Phoenix veterans parades 2007-2011. Got first place 2007 and the Ben Jefferson award 2011. The sign also had a photo of another loss, one of my fellow recruits in the all Arizona platoon
145, he also died same area as SSgt McMahon.
That same sign is now mounted on the front of my house now. Very sorry for the loss of those two and so many others.
