For PFC John Jacob McLAY, JR, USMC...another of Pittsburgh's (and Pitcairn's) bravest of heroes!!!!!

He loved us so.

Every day, in a hundred ways, he told us so.

In honesty, in affection, he told us so.

He loved us so.

Every day, in a hundred ways, he showed us so.

With loyalty and bravery, he showed us so.

He was our defender, and he kept us free!

He took an oath to guard us, and fought for liberty!

He loved us so, and we should know.

For we loved him so.

PFC McLay, you have given all that mortality can give! You had been there and done that in Vietnam, fighting for the right without question or pause! You were one of Pittsburgh's...and Pitcairn's...and America's...bravest of knights, who gave all to defend liberty everywhere!...for you were very faithful to your country, the Corps, your fellow Marines, your family, and more importantly, yourself, for you had lived up to the motto of the Corps...SEMPER FIDELIS!...always faithful! Your name and fame are the BIRTHRIGHT of EVERY American citizen! In your youth and strength...your love and loyalty...you gave all to ensure the blessings of liberty! You were one brave man who did brave deeds for our America! You had lived up to the code of conduct and chivalry of those who guard this beloved land...an ideal so noble that it arouses a sense of pride, and yet, of humility! I strongly believe that Jill Corey, whom Avonmore (her home town) and Pittsbuirgh (where she got her start) can claim as one of their own, and whom I greatly admire as one of my three top favorite songbirds of all time, which also includes England's Julie Andrews, and Dusty Springfield, also from England, though she passed on some years ago, would be very proud opf your service to America, and the sacrifices you made to keep our country free! Well done, Marine! Be thou at peace. SEMPER FI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Angel Day

Today I saw in a picture of the Wall a veteran who had "Forgotten Warrior" on the back of his jacket. I want you to know that you and the others on the Wall are not forgotten warriors. You are "remembered warriors" and heros who gave their all for our country and for freedom.

It may not have seemed like it at the time, but you did made a difference and are continuing to make a difference. Your service and sacrifice were not and will never, ever be in vain. You will always touch young and old alike. It is evident in the messages that are left on this site.

I am one American who is so very grateful to you and the others on the wall, along with countless other Vietnam veterans. You are and always will be my heros and I will remember you until the day I take my last breath.

So, on this your Angel Day I want to say to you, "Thank you, thank you from the bottom of my heart for your service and sacrifice".

May you always rest in eternal peace.

God Bless You

I lost my true love in this war and I will never forget the sacrifices made by all of the Vietnam soldiers and will keep all of you in my heart until my last day on earth.

Your journey on earth ended too soon, but you will have everlasting life in heaven.

Thank you for your bravery and courage.

Rest in peace dear soldier.
