My hero

For my big brother you are truly missed. There has been a hole in my life for 49 years. You always made me feel special. From letting me drive your car to the time when I was in school in Utah and so homesick, I called to talk to mom and you answered. You had just got home from working all night. We talked for a while and I felt a lot better. Little did I know that you got in your car and drove to Salt Lake and was waiting for me when I got out of class with a dozen red rose and took me to lunch. You really made my day. You are still my hero. I love you.

To my father

To the father I will never know but am so proud of! If you were here things would be so different. I know in my heart we would be a family. You are missed more than you will ever know. Not getting to know you has been a gret sorrow, and a loss. I wish I could have remembered you only to have you worth me through the hard times. I'm sure you were a great man and you have been missed! I love you daddy! Stacy

My baby brother you are missed. A brother who went without lunch for a month in order to buy me baby roses for my senior prom. All the fun we had growing up. All the family trips together to Yellowstone Park, Glacier Park Montana. The family reunions and fishing trips. The Last Christmas together before you were called to a better place. And now Mother and Daddy have joined you in our Heavenly Home. Rest in peace my little brother.

Remembering An American Hero

Dear LCPL Jay Darwin McLain, sir

As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.

May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.

With respect, Sir

Curt Carter
