A missed friend
Sal and I were classmates and friends growing up. We both always talked about serving in our military. Sal paid the ultimate sacrifice. Always in my thoughts and prayers. my long overdo condolences to his family.

I knew him when
Sal had been on the guns during most of his time at Fort Irwin. About the time we deployed he said he would love to be the Radio Telephone Operator for my Forward Observer team. On our first day in the field, we were mortared about 3 AM and Sal was killed. We never had a chance to watch him grow as a soldier in Vietnam. It was a sad day for me.

Remembered
DEAR PFC AGRI,
THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE AS A FIELD ARTILLERY BASIC. ARTILLERYMEN WILL ALWAYS HOLD A SPECIAL PLACE IN THE HEART. I REALLY DO HATE IT WHEN A PERSON IS LOST THE SAME MONTH AS HIS BIRTH. I ALSO HATE THAT YOU DIED AT ONLY 18.
REST IN PEACE AND SEMPER FI.

Remembering an American Hero
Dear PFC Salvatore Agri Jr, sir,
As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for the ultimate sacrifice that you made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.
May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. And please know that men and women like you have stepped forward to defend our country yet again, showing the same love for country and their fellow Americans that you did- you would be proud.
With respect, and the best salute that a civilian can muster for you.
Curt Carter
