DEFENDING FORCES:
Read on.... “Only two defending forces have ever offered to die for you: Jesus Christ and the American soldier! One died to save your soul, the other died to save your freedom.” Sgt. Dennis O’Brien, US MC
I have updated, with all due respect, to Sgt. Dennis O’Brien USMC, Catholic Priest who passed August 29, 2002 at the age of 78.
I have merely added a third individual to the original quote, that being a first responder and I sincerely hope the addition meets with his approval...
“Only three defending forces have ever offered to die for you, Jesus Christ, an American soldier, and a first responder. The first died to save your soul, The second died to save your freedom and the third died to save your life.” Sgt. Dennis Robillard, USMC 68-72. Also President of: Gorman Schoff First Responder’s Foundation (GSFRF.com)

DHS wake up call
Mugsy was an upper ahead of me at Dover High School and therefore he would not have thought much of me as a little freshman, but I noticed him. We played football, he varsity me freshmen football. I was an undersized underweight weakling. Mugsy was short too but built like an unmovable fireplug. He gave me hope that one day I would grow strong too. My freshman year was the first year of the new Dover High School I was class of 71. Yesterday Dover had an open house at the school before they tear it down and replace it with a new and bigger school. As I looked at the building, memories flooded back. One was of Mugsy, in the looker room after practice snapping towels with teammates and the other when I heard he was a casualty in 69. Mugsy was the first person I "knew" to die in Vietnam. I suspect he had an influence on others, like me, that he didn't know. So Mugsy, they will soon ripe down our school. Thought you'd wanna know. You will be remembered for your deeds large and small. Thank you for your service.

Remembering An American Hero
Dear SGT Michael Thomas McGlone, sir
As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.
May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.
With respect, Sir
Curt Carter
