Leave no one behind

The darkest night was night eight of us escaped the NVA, walking through dense undergrowth toward the pick-up point eight clicks away. The triple canopy forest let not one speck of light reach us as we held the hand of the one next in line, walking to safety, carrying our fallen brother. As day was breaking we found the place and called for our ride. Leave no one behind is more than a slogan, It is a mission.

George was a brave soldier.

Friday, 20th of January, 1967 was a difficult day for the 3rd Platoon, A Company, 35th Infantry Regiment, 25th Division. As platoon leader, I grieve over one lost man. That day we lost three good soldiers. The best l can do is keep their memories alive by stories and comfort the ones left behind. [email protected]. God Bless America.
