honoring you...

Thank you for your service to our country so long ago sir. The remembrance from your sister Margo is especially touching. As long as you are remembered you will always be with us...

Tom you will Never Ever be forgotten

Tom is my brother. I can say he never will be forgotten, not Ever. I have often wondered how our lives would have been different had he not been killed. I'm pretty sure the world would have been a better place. A fellow soldier posted that he had survivor guilt but there is no need for that. It's just that God called him home before any of us had anticipated. I was so touched by the posts I wish I could personally thank all of you. God Bless. Tom's sister Margo.

I was in the tent next to yours when you were hit by the rocket. I caught a piece of shrapnel from the rocket and was in the dispensary when they brought you in and put you down next to me. I didn’t know you had passed until I got back to the unit three weeks later. I am proud to have served with you.

Remembered

DEAR SPEC 4 BERG,
THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE AS A MATERIAL CONTROL & ACCOUNTING SPECIALIST. IT IS 2017, WHICH MAKES IT FAR TOO LONG FOR YOU TO HAVE BEEN GONE. IT IS ALSO PRESIDENTS' DAY WEEKEND. WE APPRECIATE ALL YOU HAVE DONE, AND YOUR SACRIFICE. WATCH OVER THE U.S.A., IT STILL NEEDS YOUR COURAGE.. GOD BLESS YOU. MAY THE ANGELS BE AT YOUR SIDE. REST IN PEACE.

I was there

I was there searching for Thomas, and it was one of the saddest days of my life.
