Remembering An American Hero

Dear CPL Harold Raymond Mccord Jr, sir

As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.

May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.

With respect, Sir

Curt Carter

REMEMBERING MY BROTHER

I was only 4 when my Brother HAROLD R. McCORD JR. was Killed in Vietnam on May 26th 1970. Everyone that knew him in our Town of New Lexington called him "BUTCH". Although I can barely remember him then, I still today feel the pain of his Loss thru my Parents and Family. When my Mom would talk about butch, Tears would flow and with my Mom recently passing away in February of 2014 at the age of 84, I know they are both reunited in Heaven. In 2006 my Mother wanted to bring the Vietnam Memorial Traveling Wall to Perry County and with the help of Many Friends and Family we made it Happen. For my Family, That was our Tribute to Butch but on the other hand, was a ruff time. To others im sure they felt the same. I want to close by saying THANK YOU to all Veterans both Past & Present for your Service to America. Sincerely, Kenn McCord. P.S.: We are working on Posting a Picture of Butch here on the Site.
