Remembering An American Hero

Dear SP4 Earl Edward McCarty, sir

As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.

May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.

With respect, and the best salute a civilian can muster for you, Sir

Curt Carter

Like brothers

Eddie and I grew up together as brothers, being cousins. There were many gatherings at our grandparents ranch and on the mountain fishing.hunting, and trapping in Meeteetse. Eddie was a good brother and looked out for me being the younger of the two. I have missed him and think of him often. Its been over forty years but at times seems as though it was yesterday.

Growing up on The Pitchfork

My brother Rob - Eddies 'surrogate brother' - and I spent many an hour on the ranch and on 'the mountain' with Eddie and his family as kids. We could not have had a better place to grow up. Thank for your service to our country Eddie. I wish you would have made it home.
