REMEMBERING WAYNE CHESTER MYERS

We took advanced AIT together to become Radio Teletype Operators, became friends and shared the same birthday but he was a year older. We went to Vietnam on the same flight but parted company at Cam Rahn Bay when we received our orders. Somehow, I remember hearing back then that he had been killed early on. I'm so sorry for his family (I believe he was married) and for posting this after all these years. Craig Jarboe, D/227th 1st Cav Div

Memorial Reach Out

My name is Patti and I work in the office of New York State Assemblymember Kevin Cahill. Our office is planning an event to honor those who were killed in Vietnam that were from our district, which encompasses most of Ulster County and Northern Dutchess. As such, we are hoping to get in touch with any of the surviving family members or close friends of this individual. Should anyone that reads this know how to contact them, we would greatly appreciate it if, with the family or friend’s permission, we could be given a means of reaching out to them. Our office can be contacted by phone at 845-338-9610 or email at [email protected]. Thank you.

Thank You

Dear Cpl Wayne Myers, Thank you for your service as a Radio Teletype Operator with the 1st Cavalry. Your 53rd anniversary is soon, sad. Saying thank you isn't enough, but it is from the heart. It is the Epiphany, Merry Christmas & Happy New Year. Time passes quickly. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage and faithfulness, especially now. Rest in peace with the angels.

Always in My Heart

We were joined at the hip as childhood friends. We had so many adventures growing up and I have several scars from some of them that I wear with honor. The last time we talked was shortly before you entered the service and the last visit was sadly when you came home.

I will never forget.
