NATIVE AMERICAN PRAYER

It is said a man hasn't died as long as he is remembered. This prayer is a way for families, friends and fellow veterans to remember our fallen brothers and sisters. Do not stand at my grave and weep I am not there, I do not sleep. I am a thousand winds that blow, I am the diamond glints on snow. I am the sunlight on ripened grain, I am the gentle autumn rain. When you awaken in the morning hush, I am the swift, uplifting rush of quiet birds in circled flight, I am the stars that shine at night. Do not stand at my grave and cry, I am not there, I did not die.

Never to be forgotten

You were one of the first friends that I can remember. We played ball in the street. Your father was my first baseball coach your brother Tom and I were the best players. We played in the woods together. I have been to the wall in Washinton twice and have been to the traveling wall once. I came to your wake in St. Louis,Mo. That was the last time that I saw your brother and parents. My name is Gerald F. Wilson, I live in Houston, Texas. I lived across the street from you and your family and I have an older brother named Bill. You may be gone from earth but, never forgotten.
