This is his boot camp photo from Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, Platoon 1106. He earned the title “U.S. Marine” on November 2, 1966.

My name is Larry Meadows and after many years I just visited the Vietnam Memorial in DC. I found Richard's name on the Vietnam Wall Memorial. I was Richard's Squad Leader at the time of his death. I wish I had contacted his family earlier but I was a 19 year old Marine at the time and didn't really know how to handle his death.
