Remembering You Today

My Love, Remembering

you today on this the

43rd anniversary of

when you joined God

and the other angels.

(This website was not available on the

actual date--February

26, so I am posting

this remembrance today)

I know that your light shines brightly in

heaven, just as it

did the short time

you were on earth.

Due to the weather,

I could not be in

Chicago to honor you

that day, but I was

there on your birthday, January 21 and left

a token of my love

for you. I honored

you in my own special

way that day, with

candles, prayers and

the music you loved

so much. Warren, you

were the love of my

life, my soul mate

and I have never

stopped loving you.

Until the day when

we are together again,

you will always be in

my thoughts and always, always in my heart.

Rest in peace, my love.

Remembering You On Veterans Day

Hi Sweetheart,

I couldn't come to Chicago or be at the Veterans Day Observance at the Wall in Washington, DC today, but I did leave a single rose for you at the Veterans Memorial in my cemetery to honor your memory and the ultimate sacrifice you made many, many years ago. My Beloved Father who was a World War II Veteran, is buried in this cemetery and I came also to honor his memory.

You both are in my thoughts everyday and always, always in my heart.

I Visited Your Resting Place

My Sweet Hero, Yesterday, I came to Chicago for the second time in my life. This time it was to visit your resting place and to leave you a single red rose, a symbol of my love for you that has never died. I came to honor your memory and to commend you for your valor, bravery and courage and to thank you for watching over me and giving me your love. I feel blessed to have been given the privilege (although so short) to meet, know and love you and look forward to the day when we will again be together. For now, I have your letters, a few pictures and my precious memories of you to keep me going. Until We Meet Again

I Visited Your Grave

My Sweet Angel,

Yesterday, after 43 years, I came to Chicago for the second time in my life. I had been searching for your resting place for some time and you guided me to it. I visited your grave and left you a beautiful red rose, a symbol of my love for you, a love that has never died.
I wrote you a letter, read it to you and left it with the rose.

You're My Soul and Inspiration

My Sweet Soldier Hero,

God brought us together almost 43 years ago thru a mutual friend at a time when we were both lonely and looking for comfort in our lives and we achieved this through letter writing and long distance telephone conversations while you were stationed at Fort Lewis, WA. Your letters were so sweet and you always called me your angel and said how happy my letters made you. When you came home on leave just before being deployed to Vietnam, I came to Chicago and we met face-to-face and spent a few precious days together, the memory of which I have always cherished.

A few months ago, I lost my husband of 39 years and God brought you back to me in a dream. Ever since that dream I have felt your presence. I kept all of your letters and have been re-reading them. They are a great source of comfort to me and have helped me to get through a most trying time of my life. You have now become "My Angel" and I feel you watching over me every day. I honor your memory and I commend you for your valor, bravery, and for making the supreme sacrifice for your country.

We both felt that in a different situation and time, we would have made "Righteous" music together. My love for you has never died and until some day when we are reunited, I remain your angel forever "and dream about a world we're gonna live in one fine day".
