My Namesake

James Steven Bennett is my namesake. My farther (still living) served our great nation in Vietnam with Steven. They became best friends. After Steven's honorable sacrifice, my dad learned that they are the exact same age. Both born on September 30, 1948. My dad was at sick bay when he learned of Steven's death. He never made another friend while finishing his Vietnam tour. We have visited his name at the Vietnam veteran memorial in Washington DC. He is my namesake. Even though he was not blood, he is family. I am 50 this November. My dad's name is Charles Cypert. If anyone would like to message me, I would love to connect. svcypert@gmail. Thank you. May Steven continue to rest in peace.

An empty spot at the table.

I am your cousin, I never knew you in this life. My mom loved your mother when they were young girls and told me stories of her life. I loved your dad. My husband was also a Marine as were many of our family members. We grieved never having you in our lives but are in no way shocked that you are a hero. Thank You so much for the example you set, for walking tall through fear and helping make this world safer for my children and grandchildren. You were loved and prayed for by a family you never knew, and are now surrounded by. Can’t wait until I can meet you on the other side! “Simper Fi”

My cousin that I never knew! Wish you were in my memories of all the grandkids at Granny Bennett’s house growing up. I heard Granny talk about you over the years. You were loved by the Bennett’s! Rest in Gods arms and maybe say a hello to your kinfolk.

Thankful for you

Steve was my mother Linda Bennett Stanley’s nephew, they were born in the same year, 1948. I have heard about him and very sorry to have never known him. I see by his information here that he died the same year my oldest brother was born, 1968. I am so thankful for his service and sacrifice, and also so very thankful to read these kind posts from strangers who care and from people who did know him or knew of him through their loved ones. God bless you all, God bless all the ones who gave themselves in service for our freedoms, God bless the USA!
