Thank You

Dear Lt Stephen Moreland, Thank you for your service as Tactical Aircraft Pilot. I am glad you were identified in 2008. Welcome Home. Saying thank you isn't enough, but it is from the heart. It is Advent. Time passes quickly. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage and faithfulness, especially now. Rest in peace with the angels.

High School Days Remembered Often

Steve was a year or two ahead of me in school in Pasadena, CA. We met because he was a licensed ham radio operator and my brother and I wanted to become hams too. Steve had a marvelous radio station in his room at home, and eventually my brother and I would take the Novice Class license test there, learning later that we both passed. Steve also had a HF mobile radio in his '53 Chevrolet that was an exciting experience on Field Day when we stayed up all night talking to other hams on his Collins transceiver. He was a mentor who impacted my life during and since those school days in the late '50s and early '60s. I've touched his name on the wall with reverence and gratitude, and have remembered him often. Welcome home, Steve.
