My Squad Leader

You were more than a squad leader to me - a very good friend! I remember the day you asked me to be your RTO. It forever changed the trajectory of my tour and life. I was there and helped load your body on the chopper. Forever grateful for your leadership and friendship.

I have never forgotten you

I visit your grave often and put flowers. How could I ever forget you. You aggravated me on a daily basis in ninth grade English. You were such a nice guy and quiet. I hated it when you were killed and I was at the funeral home the night before your funeral. You are a hero. Thank you for serving our country.
