Dear Lt Ronald Montapert, Thank you for your service as an Infantry Unt Commander. Saying thank you isn't enough, but it is from the heart. Today is Veterans’ Day. Time passes quickly. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage and faithfulness, especially now. Rest in peace with the angels.

One of my first friends at USC, a frat bro, and a hilarious sense of humor. We had some great adventures.

Ron and I met at the LA AFEES station and took a cab from there to LAX with me holding our orders for FT. Dix NJ. Ron and I became good friends through basic but were sent to different AIT units. We would meet again at Ft. Benning; his company was next door. He was an all around good guy. One of fallen comrades I always remember.

Ron, I graduated with you from Infantry OCS on 15 August 68 at Ft. Benning, GA. We also went to Jungle Warfare School and on to Vietnam together along with 8-10 other classmates. I was in the 9th Inf Div in the Mekong Delta. I just want to say Thank You to you and to all others who gave their lives for our country. I remember you! Gary
