Ground Casualty

1LT Luis J. Monroig was a combat engineer unit commander serving with D Company, 26th Engineer Battalion, Americal Division. On July 22, 1971, 1LT Monroig was the passenger in a military vehicle returning from a military mission when the roadway collapsed approximately one half-mile from Quang Ngai Airfiled. Monroig suffered fatal injuries when the vehicle overturned. [Taken from coffeltdatabase.org]
