honoring you....
War drew us from our homeland
In the sunlit springtime of our youth.
Those who did not come back alive remain
in perpetual springtime -- forever young --
And a part of them is with us always.

Dear Lcpl David Mills, Thank you for your service as a Field Radio Operator. Saying thank you isn't enough, but it is from the heart. Halloween is soon. Time passes quickly. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage and faithfulness, especially now. Rest in peace with the angels.

3Bn 1st Marines
I remember the morning David lost his life. He walked past me and smiled and nodded. He was in Comm but carried a radio that day on a little patrol. It happened so close to our Battalion compound we heard the shoots. Later we found out he was killed by a sniper. They placed his helmet on a shelf in the H&S Co. HQ. It was all we could do. He was a fine Marine.
Several years ago I found his brother Robert through the old 3/1 Webpage maintained by Oliver Jackson. I believe by then David's parents were deceased? I always wanted to tell them what a good Marine David was. But by now they are together with their son once again.
