THE WALL OF FACES

Thank you so much for your courage and bravery. You sacrificed your life for your country. It is quite a tragedy you passed and especially since you were only eighteen and had your whole life ahead of you. I have no relation to nor do I know you in anyway, but I’m sure you will be missed by many. God Bless You

It is said a man hasn't died as long as he is remembered. This prayer is a way for family, friends and fellow veterans to remember our fallen brothers.
Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there, I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning hush,
I am the swift, uplifting rush of
quiet birds in circled flight,
I am the stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there, I did not die.

Although we never met personally, I want to thank you Allen Twiggs Merritt, IV., for your courageous and valiant service, faithful contribution, and most holy sacrifice, given to this great country of ours!

Your Spirit is alive--and strong, therefore Marine, you shall never be forgotten, nor has your death been in vain!

I went to high school with Allen. I knew his as Allen Gandy as he was raised by his grandmother. He was 2 years younger that I was but the same age as my brother. He along with another of his friends gave their lives after only a short time in Viet Nam. I think of him often and look back on his picture in the high school year book and wonder what he might have become had he had the chance to live. Larry T. Miniard-Daphne, AL
