Dear PFC Jesus Mejia, Thank you for your service as a Pioneer. Saying thank you isn't enough, but it is from the heart. Another summer is coming to an end, and tomorrow is POW/MIA Recognition Day. Time passes quickly. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage and faithfulness, especially now. Rest in peace with the angels.

The last time I saw you was when you came to our house and told my dad and me that you were leaving. As long as I live that memory will be alive. Your sacrifice and that of the rest will never be forgotten by this great nation.

I was born here and drafted from Colo. I came back in 67. I want you to know I’m doing all I can to honor you and our other brothers that didn’t make it back. Thank you for your sacrifice and god will always have a special place for you. Until we meet. Elias Huerta

As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.

May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.
