honoring you....
A butterfly lights beside us like a sunbeam
And for a brief moment its glory
and beauty belong to our world
But then it flies again
And though we wish it could have stayed...
We feel lucky to have seen it.

The funnest Uncle ever!
I remember when u would come home from the war, take my older sister Kim & I to the Detroit Zoo. We'd have big parties that lasted until the wee hours of the AM. We'd also make homemade ice cream & eat watermelon at Grandma's house. It was fun riding in your white, VW Bug you named "my girl". Your loss left a hole in our family. But, being Meadows- we figured the only way to fill this hole up, make you proud was to join the National League of p o w m i a families, in Wash. As well as, the pow Comm. of Mi. It's an accounting of our missing serviceman, from the wars. You know we have to hold the gov's feet to the fire, be accountable for men & women that fight for our freedom, not left behind! Dearest uncle, I now have stage 4 meta breast cancer & multiple sclerosis. Your big brother Bud, now has thyroid & lung cancer. He just turned 80 by the way! But you probably know that. I just turned 56. If you could have a word with God, can you work something out that I could stay longer? I'm not perfect but I am kind, just like a Meadows. I'll see you in my dreams (not too soon in person) - Love your niece, Karla

Mumbly Peg
Dear Merl,
I remember you teaching me to play Mumbly Peg, potsies and other games when I lived on Kathryn Street. Our yards were back to back. No one could do a better Popeye the Sailor and you could read "Lil' Abner" better than anyone I ever knew. I have nothing but fond memories of the Meadows family. Thank you for the sacrifice for our country. You gave your all. Bless you my friend.

Thank You
Dear Sp4 Merl Meadows, Thank you for your service as a Radio Teletype Operator. Saying thank you isn't enough, but it is from the heart. The anniversary of the terror attacks just passed. Time passes quickly. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage and faithfulness, especially now. Rest in peace with the angels.
