Richard was one of my Sgts at Fort Polk. I would loan him money and he would let me use his room to listen to his records of Porter and Dolly. He convinced me to go to NCO school. After 12 weeks I left and went to Scout Dog School. So I walked point with Gardo 86XO and having him got me home. RIP ole friend, I will never forget you. JL Davis

Dear Sgt Richard May, Thank you for your service as an Infantryman. Saying thank you isn't enough, but it is from the heart. Time passes quickly, but our world needs help. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage, guidance and faithfulness. Rest in peace with the angels.

I can still envision you arriving at Moore and Scott’s cafe in that red and white Firebird. You are still frequently in my thoughts. You are the essence of a hero.
