I had hoped

I wore Glenn Belchers MIA bracelet. I had hoped that he would be returned to his loved ones safe and sound, but that was not to be. I still think of him and the sacrifice he made.

MIA/POW Bracelet

I have worn the bracelet with Glenn's name on it since I was a teenager in the early 70's. Today, I share it with my students in my classroom and share with them what the meanings of Veteran's Day and Memorial Day mean.

SOMETHING I HAD TO SAY

I would like to leave this message as a prayer to the family of Glenn Belcher. I became aware of him while I lived in Grand Forks, ND. My next door neighbor was in the Air Force and he obtained a red MIA bracelet for me, it had the name of Glenn Belcher on it.
A few weeks later I was at an antique and second hand store, I was looking through a $2.00 box and found a nickel plated MIA bracelet for Glenn Belcher. I found it interesting to see the nickel one lists him as a Capt. and the red as a Maj..
Well, I thought this must be some sort of sign, so I did some research on where Maj. Belcher was from. I was surprised to find out he was from Fessenden, ND, since I'm from Harvey, ND, just 15 miles away from each other. Since that time, I held a special place for Maj. Belcher in my heart.
Prayers were said for him and his family. I then read an article in my hometown paper about the finding and burial of his remains. I was relieved that there was a closure to this. I slipped off both bracelets, put them with the article I clipped out of the paper and put them in a wood box my wife gave me as a gift. She wanted me to use it to keep my valuables in, and I did. God Bless You Glenn and your family.
Sincerely,
Jon Fields
