"TOM"

Alfred was a close childhood friend of mine. We grew up playing lots of basketball and just hanging out together. He was called "Tom" by all his friends because that's the name he chose. He was not thrilled to be drafted into the service. His death by drowning his first day in Vietnam was a surprise to all his friends because he did not swim. We still are puzzled about the circumstances surrounding his death. He continues to be remembered by all his friends.

Thank You

Dear PFC Alfred Matthews, Thank you for your service as an Infantryman. It is so sad that you passed on your first day. Saying thank you isn't enough, but it is from the heart. Independence Day just passed. Time passes quickly. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage and faithfulness, especially now. Rest in peace with the angels.
