My cousin Joey

I finally got to go to see the traveling Vietnam Memorial Wall today. It was a very emotional time for me to honor you and all of the fallen heroes. I was able to touch your name and to trace it to the piece of paper that was given me. I will put it next to the newspaper article with you picture and story that I have framed in my room. You were such and awesome guy. You were older than me but you always were so nice and kind to me. I will always remember you. my thanks to you and everyone who served for your sacrifices. Rest in Peace Cousin Joey. You will always be loved and remembered. Love your cousin Candida

REMEMBERING A GOOD GUY, JOE

I was one of Joe's younger second cousis. I just remember Joe being such a good guy even at a young age. It has been 44yrs now and it still seems like yesterday when my mother got the call that Joe had died. Everyone on my Brooklyn street loved Joe,especially the girls. When I passed the said news on there were a lot of tears. For many years when Aug.10, came around I would think of that day my mom got the call and think of Joe.I 've been to Washington and have seen Joe's name on the wall along with the other 58,000 lost lives. I'm now in my 50's and still think of Joe and try to find information on him in Vietnam. Joe you're still missed by the family. Cousin Lenny Cona. R.I.P

Remembering An American Hero

Dear PVT Joseph Frank Marcantonio, sir

As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.

May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.

With respect, and the best salute a civilian can muster for you, Sir

Curt Carter
