I never had a chance to really know my uncle
I was just a young girl when my uncle Philip was killed in Vietnam. I have had the chance to read some of the letters he had written home during his time serving in Vietnam.
I'm sad that I never really had a chance to get to know him.

I remember
Phil I remember our drag racing days, you in your 49 Ford coupe with the 401 Buick motor and I with my 55 Chevy with a Corvette 327. We tore up the streets. When I returned from Vietnam and went to your house and your brother Paul told me of your death in Vietnam. I was truly saddened and upset we would never get back together. I have never forgotten you or your car even after all these years..

Remembering An American Hero
Dear PFC Philip Marasco, sir
As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.
May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.
With respect, and the best salute a civilian can muster for you, Sir
Curt Carter
