Thank you for your service to our country so long ago sir. You died at 18 years of age. I am 74 and have lived a long and fulfilling life. It is tragic you never had that same opportunity. May you rest in eternal peace.

Dear Lcpl Jimmie Mantooth, Thank you for your service as an Antitank Assaultman. Your 53rd anniversary just passed, sad. Saying thank you isn't enough, but it is from the heart. Time passes quickly, but it is an unusual time. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage, guidance and faithfulness. Rest in peace with the angels.

I know you through the wonderful joy and faithful character of my high school classmate, Carol. If you’d not been taken from us so young, I’m sure that joy I’ve found in your sister would have shown through you as well, Jimmie. I look forward to meeting you face to face in the next place where we’ll resume our journeys. You gave your all to free us to give in other ways. May we be found even a little worthy of your unselfish sacrifice. Thank you. Thank you.
