In 1991, I was an 18 year old Airman Basic at Lackland and I bought Captain Mann's MIA bracelet. I wear it all the time, and today - on POW/MIA Remembrance Day, I am wearing it again. I never knew Captain Mann or his family, I picked his bracelet out because it stood out to me.
May God bless his family and his Grandchildren.

Long Ago
When I was two, we lived in Valdosta and were neighbors of Bob and his family. My father, Arthur H. Knight, was also in the Air Force. He and my mom spoke of Bob often in the years to come and when Bob was listed MIA, my father openly wept. Daddy always had great things to say about him. Now daddy is gone and I hope he has met up with Bob to exchange old stories.

Remembering An American Hero
Dear Captain Robert Lee Mann, sir
As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.
May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.
With respect, and the best salute a civilian can muster for you, Sir
Curt Carter
