Kindergarten

Paul & I went from kindergarten through high school together. I ended up being drafted in 1970 and there wasn't a day I didn't think about Paul, the first war casualty from our class. My granddaughter just returned from DC and I asked her to bring me a scratching. My best thoughts to his family for his sacrifice.

Paul Bedfoe

You and I took journalism classes together st Walla Walla. I think of you often all these years later. The day we learned about your death seems like yesterday. Mostly it brought the war to reality on Walla Wall's bucolic campus.

Remembering An American Hero

Dear PFC Paul Melvin Beddoe Jr, sir

As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.

May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.

With respect, Sir

Curt Carter
