Thank You

Dear PFC William Maguire, Thank you for your service as a Rifleman. Your 71st birthday is soon, happy birthday. Saying thank you isn't enough, but it is from the heart. Yesterday was the original Memorial Day, and it is important to remember you. Time passes quickly. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage, guidance and faithfulness. Rest in peace with the angels.

A Hero

Even though we never met, you have made a substantial impact on my family. My name is Patrick John Caufield Jr, son of Julie Maguire, Billy's sister. I never met you, and I know you weren't in my mother's life for very long but I know that she thinks of you often. My grandmother, Billy's mother, Virginia Maguire, is now 89 years old and she thinks of you every day. You were the uncle I never met and I'm writing this rememberance because I feel an overwhelming surge of pride whenever I think of you, and how I wish I could have met my uncle Billy. You make this family proud, and your mother, sister, and the rest of your siblings love you and wish you were still with us, Billy.

With love,
Patrick
