Thank you for your service to our country so long ago sir. You died at 18 years of age. I am 74 and have lived a long and fulfilling life. It is tragic you never had that same opportunity. May you rest in eternal peace.

On the remembrance of your 70th birthday, your sacrifice is not forgotten.

Dear PFC William Lynn, Thank you for your service as an Antitank Assaultman. Saying thank you isn't enough, but it is from the heart. Memorial Day is this weekend, but like none other. Time passes quickly. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage, guidance and faithfulness. Rest in peace with the angels.

Private First Class William Thomas Lynn, Served with the 2nd Platoon, Company K, 3rd Battalion, 1st Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, Third Marine Amphibious Force.

I remember Billy, as we knew him, had a good word to say at all times. Much younger than Billy, I looked up to him remembering how he would keep the neighborhood bullies at bay. He died way to young.
