Thank You

Dear PFC Clayton Luther, Thank you for your service as an Infantryman. Saying thank you isn't enough, but it is from the heart. Time passes quickly. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage and faithfulness. Rest in peace with the angels.

Thank you George Romias

Dear Mr. Romias,

Thank you for your moving tribute to my Uncle Clayton J Luther, but much more importantly, thank you for the opportunity to thank you for being a part of the military honor guard contingent at his funeral.

We didn't get the opportunity to have much contact with the honor guard attendees. It makes me so happy to know that you're in such close geographic proximity. I would truly love to chat with you further, if you'd be interested. My email is [email protected]

Once again, thank you Mr. Romias for the honor of "meeting" you.

Sincerely,
Andy Luther

Thank you Mike

Mike, thank you for the wonderfully kind tribute to my Uncle Clayton; however, I wanted to "clear up" the relationship of Carol and Uncle Clayton. They were actually double first cousins and not siblings. Their mothers, Louisa and Clara, were sisters, and their fathers, Herman and Lawrence, were brothers. So they were first cousins twice over, and the two families were incredibly close. But the salient point of your remembrance is so kind and very much appreciated. Have a great day!

To A Fallen Warrior

Clayton was the brother of a classmate of mine, his sister Carol. Although he was a couple of years younger than myself, I will always remember him as a true warrior and outstanding soldier. To lose a family member in war, to lose a soldier in war is something I've never experienced personally. Having served for twenty-five years in the Army, I still feel the pain of losing a brother; a former T-Bird; a fellow citizen of our fine town of Baraboo. My thoughts and my prayers on a daily basis go out to those who paid the ultimate sacrifice for the freedoms we live so daily.
