Pen pals

There was a request made by an American magazine that young girls write to the boys who were in Vietnam. I decided to do this, even though I was in Canada, and ended up writing back and forth to Jimmy. He sent me a picture of himself and I sent him a religious medal. I never knew what happened to him until I checked the Vietnam Wall online recently and found that he had died. I am so sorry for the loss of this young man.

Thank You

Dear Sp4 James Luckey, Thank you for your service as a Medical NCO. Thank you for the lives you saved. Saying thank you isn't enough, but it is from the heart. Sunday was Mother’s Day, but like none other. Time passes quickly. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage and faithfulness. Rest in peace with the angels.
