To my Uncle

I spent today with my mom and dad talking about you and making sure my daughter, your great grand niece, knew all about what a wonderful person you were.

She knows your sisters so well and calls them “aunties,” but much like me she never got to know her Uncle Bernie.

I’m thankful that your memory lives on in our family and I hope you are spending your days with Nana and Grampy and all of your Aunts and Uncles in Heaven. We love and miss you.

Fond memory

It is now 2020. I was a caddy at longmeadow country club in 1966. Bernie was the caddy master. I still remember him. He went to Westfield state. God bless him. When I see the wall I look for his name

Thank You

Dear Lt Bernard Lovett, Thank you for your service as an Infantry Unit Commander. Saying thank you isn't enough, but it is from the heart. 45 years ago today, the president declared it the end of the war. It was not. Time passes quickly. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage and faithfulness. Rest in peace with the angels.

Bernie Lovett

Bernie and I were roommates in OCS at Ft.Benning in 1969. After OCS he went to Ft. Lewis and I stayed at Ft.Benning. We reconnected in Viet Nam when we were both assigned to MAT school outside Saigon. I remember when we got our assignments he was assigned near Saigon while I was sent to Dakto near the Cambodian-Laotian border. Bernie said "tough break Jack". 5 months later he was dead while I survived.
