We served together
I only served with Herold for a short amount of time. What I remember of him was that he was a fun loving guy and was very dedicate to his position as the platoon commanders radioman. I was with him the day he and Lt Andrews were killed. There isn't a day that goes by that I don't think of him and Lt Andrews. It was an honor to have served with them.
